I'm not sure about how to plot the inequality |z − u| < |z| on the Argand diagram and the shading part as a whole. (Given that, u= - sqrt(3) + i)

Start with the equality |z-u| = |z|, which is the locus of points that are equidistant from the origin and the point u. Can you plot that?

That actually helped me understand it better, thanks! Yes, I plotted it and managed to shade the correct region too.

in general you can think of the complex number z - ( a + bi ) as a vector from ( a + bi ) to z in the Argand Plane.
