In the midst of deciding on renting a house, but I just have no idea how much student loan i'll get.

I currently get the maximum maintenance loan, but does anyone have any idea how much it decreases in your final year?

I've looked on the student finance calculator but it's not much help as it doesn't give me an option to select the following year.

Thanks.

Hi Abbie,

Unfortunately it seems the answer is not specified on the web. It is most likely going to decrease by a set percentage overall.

I personally received finance through Student Finance NI which I believe is calculated differently to Student Finance England. As a reference I went onto my account and reviewed my funding which I calculated dropped by just under 14% in the final year.

Although this is SFNI and I received my final year funding back in 2017 it should be a similar drop for SFE students as well I'm sure.

I personally would see about getting a summer job to save and make up the difference.

I hope this helps!
