Depends on the university and course.

I know for my BA, a small introductory reading list was put online in about July time so before results. The uni where I'm doing my MA already has their BA reading lists up for first years.

I asked for one to be sent out during the summer. Just don't buy all the books off it cos you may well end up wasting your money.

I emailed the head of my course to ask for one, and the list they provided was really useful because it highlighted which ones I really SHOULD buy, so I'm planning to pick up a couple :smile:

Usually when term starts you will be issued with reading lists, although before making purchases you should consult the lecturer/tutor first as some books are for additional background reading and not really worth the investment!
