I have a job lined up as a FT Analyst starting this summer in the Restructuring division in IBD, but the more reading I do and the more I reflect on what I actually want - I feel as though I am going down the wrong career path. I have a sudden interest in Investment Management.

what is my best options if I eventually want to make the move>?

Restructuring IBD -> buy side is an easy move as I believe there are significant bottlenecks at the junior level for distressed strategy hedge funds. Even equity is comfortably possible.

Restructuring's huge right now. There's lots of work to be done . And lots of number crunching for an analyst. Restructuring is highly specialised, but there is some structuring work going on in Investment Management / Asset Management funds, so it could possibly be a specialised way in to it.
