That depends if a student dies during termtime (in which case some loan might be classed as “overpaid” and slc might try to recover that amount from the student’s estate).

The actual loan is written off.

Hi there,

If a student passes away the loan will be written off. We only class some payment as an overpayment if the student passed away before an instalment was made.
