I've always either helped my mother with the baking, or done the baking myself. This morning, halfway through a victoria sponge, mum raised the question;

Are you going to keep baking when you're at uni?

And now I don't know!! Is it odd to bake at uni? I'd feel weird not baking!! XD

I bake at uni :p: So does one of my housemates. My other housemates appreciate it purely because they get fed cake! I don't think its anything to be ashhamed of and if you like baking well then carry on!

i hope it's not "odd"!
i always bake, and regularly bring excess cake/fudge to school to give out, just because we can't eat it all at home!
baking makes me happy and i'm going to continue if/when i go to uni
i think the cakes also make other people happy

Ditto. There's something innately happy about cupcakes.

Nothing wrong with baking at uni. In fact, that'd be something I'd do when I go. I love baking! And I'm sure everyone else would love the fact that they have someone who can bake stuff.

I lived in a house of four girls this year and we all loved to cook, so our house was always full of cakes and biscuits and other tasty things. We had a great many visitors for some inexplicable reason...

I got into the habit of taking a cake instead of a bottle when invited to house parties and found that people appreciated it far more. In fact, I'm pretty sure the only reason I was invited to some of those parties was for the cake

My gf bakes for stress relief, so I'm pretty sure she'll bake a lot at uni.

Everyone in her family put on weight when she was doing her exams :P

Bake if you want to! Who cares what anybody else thinks!

I like cooking, and at home we rarely ever eat frozen meals or take aways, it's always a freshly cooked meal everyday. I didn't think I cooked more than the average person, but my old flatmates always used to make comments that I was always cooking, or had I nothing better to do but they were *****es and that's a whole other story!

I have that book! It is yummy! Try the choc chip cookies recipe, it's just like Maryland cookies

It's weird how some people don't cook. When I'm in uni I won't be wasting my time on beans on toast lol! Proper food or nothing!
Funnily enough, I come from a family with a Rayburn. I wonder if all people with a Rayburn/Aga love to cook?

I bake a good chocolate cake.... my dad tries to blackmail me into making him one every chance he gets. I'm also asked to make one whenever there is a function on in the hall... I always make a fudge icing to put on top... mmm. I usually eat most of it though :minimo:.
