Does anyone have any ideas for a biology assignment related to microbiology/microorganisms? At the moment my plan is to investigate the effect of different substrates on yeast respiration but I'm afraid this is way too basic.

I am unable to do any kind of investigation involving bacteria or human studies. Another experiment which I have seen suggested that I am unable to do is the effect of catcheol oxide on enzymic browning.

I have seen the effect of competitive and non-competitive inhibition of the enzyme Beta- Galactosidase but I'm that it will be difficult to explain the real-world application of this experiment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
