Dear fellow students,
I am studying PGCE PcET at the university of South Wales. My subject is Independent Learning skills. I am preparing a 30min peer teaching session for 13 peers. I want to teach something about inclusion. Therefore, I am looking for help on how I can make my presentation engaging, fun and what activities I could plan for the peers?
My presentation is on the 13th November.
Many thanks for your help.

Maybe do something for your peers to give them a bit of insight into what it's like to be a child with a barrier to learning.

Recently, I did an activity relating to dyslexia, where we were asked to write about our day BUT we had to write with the "wrong hand" i.e. left hand if you are right handed, all letter es had to be replaced with a 3, and we couldn't use words containing the letter g.

This could be a good starter to help people understand what it's like to be a child with an SEN need, and then you can talk about support strategies and how to help (maybe try a similar task but with more support e.g. a gap fill or a matching task).

Hi,Many thanks for sharing. That's very kind of you getting back to me very promptly. I would certainly consider your advice. What would be the ideal topic for the lesson? What about if I was going to introduce role play for 3 groups? i.e hearing, visual and the third person will not be allowed to say anything in a specified activity. Is there any activity that you might recommend?

I did a SEND course once. We were given thick gloves, goggles blacked out with only slits and made to do hammer beads whilst being told we weren't working hard enough. Made me think. Just a thought.
