Earlier today my laptop came up with a message saying that I have limited virtual memory... whatever that is. Basically, I was wondering if there are any particular type of files that I could get rid of to increase the virtual memory? (if this can even be done)
Thanks x

What were you doing at the time of the message?

If you were running loads of 'heavy' programs at once, i.e. you were listening to music whilst playing a RAM-greedy game, it could happen.

It's not a major issue - one I ignore all the time heheh. Just don't run too many things at once.

If you have only got this message once, dont worry much about it.

If the problem persists, you could either increase your virtual memory limit or a better solution would be to upgrade your RAM.

Look at these articles found on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Also this guide has some reccomendations on optimizing your virtual memory paging file as I recall.
