Year 12s: what will be the first way you research your future options? >>

History at Edinburgh

Anyone with any advice on doing History at Edinburgh? My son just got offered an unconditional place there but he hasn't visited yet (we live in the States) so trying to get as much advice as possible from current / former students before planning a visit.

My Mind

I think, this is a chance you cannot miss! Edinburgh is a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings and to be studying history there is a chance of once in a lifetime. Many years ago, one of my son's friend did not get admission one year; He was so keen that he reapplied the following year and got accepted. And the best bit is the Edinburgh Castle looming over the city. It is spectacular. And of course, Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.
