Can a deactivated Snapchat account be traced by a school?

There's this account which has been giving me a lot of hassle and they've anonymously pretended to be me and break up someone's relationship as well as bully many people over it. I got very upset and people just started blaming me for it. The teacher said that he'd investigate it further and find out who did it. But my question is, can he trace a Snapchat which has been deactivated? For context it was deactivated this morning I think but yeah is it possible for a school to do that because if so I'd be optimistic but I'm just curious if the account can be traced by the school or if they can involve the police as it caused a very big scene and there are many rumours
Your school wouldn't even be able to trace an active account, they don't have that kind of power.

The only group with that power is Snapchat and they would only provide that information to law enforcement.

Oh okay it was because me and the teacher had mutually agreed on who it could be but they said they'd find out who it was in "Two days" and confirm it, seeing as the account can't be traced I don't know how that will happen but thank you for replying I appreciate it at least I know now !!
