For first year in Law we paid £3070, but on the website for 2008/09 it says the amount is now £3,145...

Do we pay the increased amount, or is that for students enrolling this year?

What a joke; what does the University do with all that money..and what "costs" does it really cover...surely all the lecturers don't get paid their weight in Gold do they

It's not set by the university itself. It's universal across all universities. £3,000 from each student isn't a great deal (in terms of income). Your higher education is still being heavily subsidised.

Still I wish we had the Scottish system where it is free! In relation to the topic I don't know if we have to pay the increase or not.

The extra is the percentage cost of living increase added to the fee you paid for the first year. It will go up every year.
