Economics or economics and management

I not sure whether to pick econ or econ and management at university. People who have done Econ told me economics and management is a nicer course, as in it is easier and you're able to get the same jobs?

Do you love econ? can you cope with the maths?

Depends what job you want but I would pick econ as they are going to prefer that for economist jobs due to more in depth knowledge.
If you do economics and management and choose to specialise more in the economics then there won't be any difference in career prospects. But then you could argue what's the point of doing E&M in the first place.

When it comes to economist jobs, the vast majority of people will have masters degrees. Showing that you can deal with the maths and the theory will make it more likely that you can do a highly rated economics masters course.

It will give you some understanding of some basic concepts in finance and you'll demonstrate some mathematical aptitude, but it doesn't really matter. You need further qualifications to become an accountant anyway.

And economics is not necessary for banking. Central banking is a whole different kettle of fish. Think government combined with finance.

So is economics a broad subject because I dont have a specific job in mind, i just know i probobly would go in to something like finance or civil service, but i wouldn't really want to go into banking or working for the central bank.
