So, basically I'm moving to derby over the summer and i am hoping to go on to do a BTEC at derby college.

The thing is, the decision to move was quite recent and so applying for sixth forms was quite a mad rush and everywhere seemed to be full and i was turned down everywhere and was told i was too late. When applying for derby college, they told me that i was to come down on a later date to actually sign up for a course considering gcse results. However, the chance that the course i actually want to do is not necessarily going to have any places free.

Is anyone else having to go through this with derby college or just with any college in general?
All my friends are staying on at my previous school and so i'm not sure if this is just the norm?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
