This influencer is 22 years old or something. Seriously there is huge differnce in learning about and living it like WWII vets did. That vets as well as much of the Europeans who were attacked by the Germans and anyone was bombed in cities especially if they were children. Remembrance Day at originally to remember those who killed in WWI.

In large part that is because Hitler decided to turn to order his armyand invade the USSR more spifically Russia.

Lend lease

:frown: Lend-lease : that`s right.
It is often overlooked how close at one point the Allies were to losing the Battle of The Atlantic. (Incidentally in 1917, during WW 1, the U-boats almost then came close to winning)

We were losing ships faster than they could be replaced, and only the rapid construction by new production methods ( all welded hulls instead of riveting etc.) and use of the American Liberty ships followed later by rapid combined Allied development of new submarine searching technology saved that, the ships built and supplied by an America who had at time not officially entered the war - and at the same time providing naval escorts along with the Canadians in the Western Atlantic.

Churchill said later "The only thing that really frightened me in the war was the U-boat peril".

On the ongoing subject of Churchill, normally- not always-he hit the nail on the head with his oratory but his reference to the Italian Campaign that it would be "The soft underbelly of Europe" was about as far wide of the mark as it could get as he later admitted.

Anybody watch Garry Lineker`s programe of his Grandfather`s untold war in Italy last week?
Comments welcome.

Instagram is the thing that’s having a big negative impact on teenagers and young adults mental health
In my experience many of them don’t believe that it actually even happened

I think there should be a minimum age for social media, which is strictly enforced and parents can’t override. When I see teenagers using social media platforms it just breaks my heart.
