Welcome all to this interesting thread, where i am looking to uncover what makes britain cultured. Being recently new to this country and going to a public school i think i have a unique view on the strive to culture.

The amount of people who strive for this, knowledge of paintings, painters, music and musicians, poetry and literature.

Can you believe it is not butter?

If you can, you are cultured. If you can not, you are not cultured!

You have to understand cultures and their significance. If you don't it means you aren't as cultured as you believe.

Uncultured is throwing up drunkenly on the kerb. Cultured is doing it on your best friend's feet.
Therefore i am cultured :P

Though not the 'be all and end all', being able to spell does help.
