i didn't pick gcse art, is it possible to do a level art without gcse art? is it worth asking for a switch? i'm in year 10, and only started my options this year.

We are in November now and I really don't think they will let you switch it now.
The first 2-3 weeks would have been the most suitable time to switch.
You would also have to catch up big time (it's different for each exam board but I had to produce 1 piece of hw a week and made 1-2 other pieces during class depending on media used.

Then in A level, some colleges/sixth form require a B in art GCSE to do it at A level - you should check beforehand. And at A level it is way too time-consuming and could potentially jeopardize your other subjects if you don't have good time-management. I only suggest you chose art A level if you want to pursue something related to art in the future. At GCSE it's fine and was very fun imo

The best thing you can do is talk to your tutor about this, have a chat with them and see what support they can offer you.

You could do a level art, the same as students do a level psychology without the GCSE in it and they still ace it.

I talked to them, they said i could always go for A level Art, if i'm still assionate. which is good, because i'll have a better idea of what i want when picking my A levels. the only thing i'm apprehensive about, is whether it will be practically impossible to get a good grade in, because i don't have a good foundatio in art. Although, my artwork is quite good, according to my teacher.
