The 7 Candidates are now making 5 minute pitches in the order above.

Chris Byrant on his feet now saying he does not want clapping, to then be clapped. (Banter!)

The process is being overseen by Father of the House, Ken Clarke.

I was tempted to tag Cactus to try and give her a heart attack.

A new candidate has been put in: CatusStarbright, a favourite of the student population, being famous on TSR for using big words she doesn't understand and flirting with her boss the Speaker

The first ballot is about to take place.

If a candidate gets a majority, they win. As I understand it any candidate with less than 5% of the vote as well as who comes last is eliminated.

Im not a fan.

I don't think they should vote in the traditonal way for Speaker.

Just line up the 7 candidates in the room and get them to say Orrrrdddeeerrrr!. Funniest wins.

Anyone but Dame Eleanor.

Her performances in the chamber have been poor every single time she's at the chair.

I watched her the other day and didn't think she was very good at the role.
