Can you have an unhealthy sleeping pattern?

How come when I get into a nocturnal routine (ie sleeping all morning and being up half the night) I get bags under my eyes? Is it unhealthier to sleep all day and be up all night or something? It seems obvious that it would be but I can't find any info about this on the internet:confused:

its the drastic change to your sleeping pattern, it throws your body clock out of a window and quite easily smashes it. it wouldnt anymore unhealthy to be nocturnal but you dont start like that so it throws you.

No I went through years of sleeping in the day and being up most of the night and constantly had big bags under my eyes everyone wondered why and my mum said its cause of my routine. I didn't lose any sleep, in fact slept 9 hours a day!

I don't think when you sleep can have any biological effects, so long as you get the hours in.
