A-Level History Coursework on the Russian Revolution

I have a 4000 long Coursework to write. Long story short I need advice on the introduction. My question is '“In the period 1855-1953, industrial and political progress in Russia go hand in hand with death.” How valid is this view?' Does anyone have a general structure for an extended introduction or a good first sentence?

What does your essay plan look like?
How are you planining to do your investigation?
