I apply for accomendation to my University. But when do they actually reserve and hold you a place???

Do they hold it untill you get the results or is it all given out to people when their results come out...

E.G. i apply for accomendation mid June - do they reserve me an accomendation till i get my results or will someone else be able to nabb my room untill i get my results (bearing in my i have to wait for my GCSE RETAKE results).

Please help.

Due to competition, most universities will now guarantee a places in halls to all freshers who live a certain distance from the university. However, in the same way that your offer through UCAS will usually be conditional, so normally will holding your accomodation place too.
