For past IB people has anyone missed their offer by quite alot and still got into their firm. I have heard a few people from my school have just wondered if it has happen to anyone else?

I have missed my offer by 6 points but their were reasons for this (family illness) do you think they will let me in. i want to go to york to study economics

Is anyone else in this situation with getting low grades to what they were predicted?

Phone them up and explain what happened. Get your school and docter to back you up. Did you still get the right amount of points at higher / 5 or 6 or whatever in specified subjects (if you had requirements like this)?
Will you still be able to get into your back-up?
Good luck.

I'm in the same boat, although 5 points off. It was due to a medical scare I had during exams though.

I was off by 5 points as well. I contacted my firm but they said it's unlikely that they'll accept me. Next week I'm going to try again. I want to get in there.

How? I called them once and they told me to email them.
I emailed them my results (5 points off) and they said that it is VERY unlikely they take me.
And they're waiting for me to send in my results so they can confirm this.

Well I know of someone in my year who was predicted 26, the standard offer of the uni was 32 which they lowered to 28 for him, and when he got 24 they still accepted him.

Anyway, it all depends on circumstances.
