Hi, just wondered if anyone could tell me when you tend to find out if you have passed your RAF interview at the AFCO. I have mine this coming thursday for a position as a firefighter. Do they tell you straight away or will they post a letter to you? Also, after (if) i pass i then have a specialist interview at RAF Manston in Kent, how long does this tend to be after the interview? Thanks in advance for your responses,
Tom

They should tell you there and then if you've done well enough to meet the requirements. No idea about firefighters to be honest though.

Some AFCO's don't tell you straight away, it depends on where you have the interview and who takes it. They will sometimes send you a letter a week or so later.

I was always told the AFCO SHOULDNT tell you either way at the end of the interview. I think it depends on the officer and the AFCO.

They shouldn't but, from what I've heard, they give you either strong hints or tell you outright.

And yes, it depends entirely on the officer and the AFCO your interview is held at - basically, you'll find out when you find out is about as precise as we can get on here.

Fair enough, personally I seem to remember being told literally right there in the interview room. However, from talking to all my colleagues who went to various AFCOs all over the country, I do know they do all run slightly differently.

Yea in my interview I was told at the end and had a mini de-brief. Some people have to wait soem don't, think it just depends on the officer like you say.

Officer? Pfff, a Corporal did my main interview then I had a Master Aircrew (incidentally the only one I've ever met) for the final one when I got my dates etc, don't think I ever saw anyone with a commission until I got to Day 00 RTS.
