I have paid university fees and accommodation fees to a university that is intending to strike. Surely the contracts signed to the university and the fact payments are deducted means I have a contract. If I don’t receive the tutorials and guided learning time there is a breach of the contract and I can claim pro-rata, for compensation?

You could be entitled to compensation.
