I have a question about fractional distillation in my homework and don't how to answer it. I know how fractional distillation works, but how do I answer this question?
Why is fractional distillation important to society?

Hi! So fractional distillation is used for separating a mixture which contains chemicals of different boiling points. This is really useful for society as substances such as crude oil can pass through a fractionating column, where products of different boiling points can be produced (kerosene, propane etc) can be collected.
