So basically I got a grade 1 for maths gcse in 2018.
Back in primary school they never taught maths properly so I struggle with the maths basic today. I doubt my self that I'm able to go from a grade 1 to a grade 4 pass in maths because I forgot all the basics and I don't know where to start to be good at maths. I have one year left before from the gcse exam again so does anyone have any advice or recommdation on website that could help me with my basic maths. Do you think it is possible to go from a grade 1 to a grade 4 pass at this rate?

cgp study guides are good, read the study guide then once you get the concepts do the corresponding past paper. cgp does past paper questions by topic so that's really helpful for you to consolidate topics one by one

how supportive have your math teachers been?
there's plenty of resources for maths out there, perhaps worth googling primary school math or basic math skills worksheets, print them off and complete them to see what you're struggling with

Could you have discalculia? You can still pass maths, but it makes it more difficult. If this is the case, you might be able to find a teacher or tutor that specialises in it to help you, or there could be things to help online.
If not, you could focus on functional skills papers for now. Try to work your way up from entry level to level 2, marking them as you go, and stopping at the level you find difficult. When you get to level 2, you can start looking at gcse topics again; it should feel much easier to learn.

I would say the best place to start would be your exam board's specification. It would be like a checklist and you go through each of the topics one by one. Mathsgenie is a great website as it has literally all of the maths GCSE topics in order with explanation videos, practise questions and answers. Also start doing some past papers and marking them yourself correcting them. There will always be a video on youtube of someone going through the entire paper. you just have to type in the name of the paper and the date. Then after a few weeks find a question from a paper you have already done that you got wrong and try it again to see if you remember the method. Eventually the more papers you do, the more you realise how similar the papers are and that some questions are kind of repeated in every paper with just a different wording or structure. good luck!!
