What is the meaning of goth? And why do they always wear black? Do they believe in one specific religion?

Goth is an aesthetic and a subculture so the clothes, music etc. are partly about group identity. Also the black is like an angsty thing. For a lot of people it's also sort of a safety thing, when I was deep in my emo phase which I like to pretend never happened I didn't feel comfortable in anything colourful and because of feeling like I was drawing too much attention to myself and it didn't fit with how I felt emotionally. And no it's not at all associated to any religion
