What do you think? Is it making the divide worse?

Is it causing a further rift between gen z /millenials / baby boomers because of the trend?

Summed up - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8-AfN6cULhg

The term has also been used in parliament by a 25 year old.

There is already a generational divide, "OK Boomer" is merely a symptom not the cause.

It is no different to the "snowflake millennial" often used as a pejorative term.

I had never heard of it. It’s indicative of the lack of respect in politics now. Every group is guilty of it.

No I'd say dismissing perfectly valid concerns from younger people is causing a rift. For instance greta thunberg was told to go back to school and aspersions were cast on her sanity by the right wing media. Yet she is in fact entirely right in her statements. OK boomer is just a symptom of what's already there.

As far as I'm aware "Ok boomer" is a response to that generation using the term "millennial" as an insult towards the younger generations

The generational divide has always been there, generations have always degraded each other. I'm betting if you go back far enough you'd find ancient Roman boomers moaning about young people using paper, and their millennial counterparts laughing about the boomers inability to work out anything more modern than slate tablets. But, even then OK boomer is basically just "whatever", it's a way of just backing out of conversations where the other side has no interest in trying to understand but just dismissing you like that Alan Sugar tweet above.

Meh, I think people are desperately trying to make more of it than it is is.

Dunno how to break it to kids, but when i was younger we used to disrespect our elders too.

No. 'Millennial' is, like 'baby-boom' just the name given to the generations by social scientists (). Snowflake is the derogatory nickname, though it doesn't really just apply to millennials.

I agree with your first statement, but would just like to point out that paper was unknown in Europe until the eleventh century or thereabouts, having been invented (like those other boomers, fireworks) by the Chinese about a thousand years earlier.

And, of course, baby-boomers were not responsible for letting off the atomic bombs of WW2. Nor were any the targets of zeppelin attacks.
