I applied to a postgraduate taught programme at the University of Manchester and was wondering how long it takes to receive a response regarding my application?

Ring them up on Monday and ask them. It’s not a secret but only they can tell you the answer

When you apply you should get an email from the university and it would detail the waiting times

Thank you for your answer.

It said I should receive news shortly... I guess I will just have to be patient!

It’s perfectly reasonable and ok to ring up and ask them how long it is taking for decisions at the moment

Hi there CatherineL96

As PQ says, ring them up and enquire about how long you will wait to receive a response. If you don't feel confident in ringing, a politely worded email to their applications department would also be fine. It's not unreasonable to ask them how to long you will wait to receive an answer.

Good luck!

I did not hear back yet...

I applied for an MSc in Organisational Change and Development.

I emailed them and they said I would probably only know in January 😥

Oh my!! Did your course prescribe a timeline with regard to when decisions would be made?

They did not... When I emailed them, they said it could take 4 to 8 weeks to receive a decision.

I am not familiar with the application process in the UK. Do you think this is bad news...?

I sent my application on oct 15th, heard back on 27th for interview, waited until my interview on nov 23rd and then heard back in exactly 2 weeks. You're welcome! I'm not sure how similar it is for post-grad but fingers crossed! let us know how it goes! you've got this
