I had a thought the other day: if I don't get into my first, I end up going to my insurance, where I've not applied for any accommodation, meaning I'll get somewhere crappy (if any).

Do you apply for accommodation at your insurance choice? Have you all done this? Or do you just see what happens and where you end up?

It depends on the uni, you should look at their website.

It depends on the university. Some want you to apply if they're your insurance, some don't. Look on the university's website or give them a ring.

If you get into your insurance choice, give them a ring on results day and they'll sort it straight out for you
