My summer holidays are so painfully boring this year, that I'd rather start preparing my self for next semester (2nd year),

well I was just curious as to what books/websites anyone could recommend for either global development or International relations. And if anybody is currently studying IR or related, what sort of material do we generally cover..

Off the top of my head, and with a bias to writers on global justice,

Amartya Sen - Development as Freedom
Anything by David Held, Thomas Pogge, Charles Beitz, Henry Shue, Martha Nussbaum...
Peter Singer - Famine, Affluence and Morality (?) paper written in about 1972 was one of the early calls to international obligations.

If you want pure IR introductions, I would have thought there were already lists on this thread somewhere. There is a book by Chris Brown that is pretty well thought of.
