Black nazis

Just read somewhere on a youtube comment there were black nazi members in the ss. Is this true or not
My guesd is. There may have been spme recruited for covert operations but i would doubt they were treated as equals.
really....

Spoiler

There were a number of foreign born soldiers conscripted by the German forces throughout the war including some in the Waffen SS. Many of the black forces were taken from the French foreign legion.

There were also a foreign born volunteers notably the 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar, made up of predominantly Muslim Bosniaks who served mostly in Yugoslavia.

It would be generally incorrect to describe them as Nazis since most probably didn't follow the parties ideals and the vast majority were conscripts.

Nazi ideology was still a deeply racist doctrine based on the idea of Aryan supremacy and "racial hygiene".

Anyone that was not Aryan (Germanis, Dutch, Scandinavian and English) were considered to be sub-human. The plan for the Black population for instance was segregation and forced sterilization.

Have a read.
I have no doubt there were people of all races living in Nazi Germany, and many may have served in the army too. But people conflate 'German Soldier' with 'Nazi' way too much. A Nazi would be a better description for politicians and generals. Just living in Germany or serving in the army didnt make you a Nazi. So were there blacks in Nazi Germany? Probably. Were they Nazis? Probably not.
