Rock Climbing At Imperial, Manchester, Edinburgh and St Andrews

I'm a prospective student to Imperial College, University of Manchester, University of Edinburgh and the University of St Andrews and I have always been really interested in rock climbing. Can anyone that has went to these universities talk about his experience with rock climbing at their respective universities?

I dont do this myself, but IC has a pretty decent looking climbing wall for in house fun ...

And also the Mountaineering club ...

Looks like that has facebook pages etc to follow up with the people involved.
you can find lists of societies from each unis SU although they won't say how active they are

London has a ton of great indoor gyms

Manchester does too and has the peak district less than an hour away and the lakes/Wales less than 2 hours so better outdoor climbing

I've heard great things about Edinburgh indoor gym although I've not been, not sure how the outdoor options are though

overall climbing is popular right now, I imagine you'll find indoor gyms and clubs at most unis with at least a small core of active members... plus you can save and do some cheap trips in the better months would probably not base your uni choice on this tbh

Yeah will not be basing my choice on this. Just really interested in knowing. I have looked at each site and they all have really nice looking indoor climbing facilities just want to know about the environment of the place. Thanks a lot for taking the time to respond.
