GCSE Maths
Hi, I was wondering that is functional maths level 2 equivalent to GCSE Maths. I’ve failed my maths Higher Tier by 2 marks and thinking if I should do functional maths if it is equivalent. Also is it easier than gcse higher maths, but same time I’ve always found higher tier easier than foundation GCSE yet I always miss out by 2/3 marks.
Most people find functional skills easier to pass, and it is supposed to be equal, but gcse maths looks better. Many universities/employers will require gcse maths, and won’t accept functional skills.
I would at least try to resit the gcse a couple of times before going to functional skills. If you’re that close, it’s definitely worth it. You might have to do this first at college anyway.
