Hi everyone,

For a performance, I have selected a central theme around which I can choose one poem one prose piece and a drama piece.

I have some ideas already but am struggling to find anything on the internet for some things.

Would anyone have any ideas for a text type as above, for the following please?

1. The pressure felt in today's soceity to do well/succeed
2. Social Media pressure on young people
3. Men's Mental Health issues/mental health in general
4 "Bullying"

Many thanks guys!

I have absolutely no experience when it comes to performing or what exactly these texts need to be. Do you need modern texts, or can you choose something from any point in history? I've tried to keep my suggestions fairly modern.

Pressure of modern society:
Not necessarily perfectly on your point, but The Handmaid's Tale - Margret Atwood (1985) brings up a lot of societal issues such as gender, religion, and political pressures/problems.
Sylvia Plath struggled with the pressure of being a domestic woman and motherhood, here are some poems that reflect this:
Letters Vol. I - Letter to her mother in 1949 saying: 'I am afraid of getting married. Spare me from cooing three meals a day...'
Sow - Sylvia Plath (1960) (link to poem)
Moonrise - Sylvia Plath (1960) (link to poem)

In terms of men's mental health, these are quite narrative:
The Maniac's Funeral - Charles Dibdin (1825) (link to poem)
Mental Cases - Wilfred Owen (1917) (link to poem)
Lady Lazarus - Sylvia Plath (1965) (link to poem)
Having it Out with Melancholy - Jane Kenyon (2005) (link to poem)
Still Life with Antidepressants - Aaron Smith (2015) (link to poem)
All sections of 'Poem for a Birthday' - links pregnancy and madness - 'The Beast' speaks of her disillusionment with marriage.
(link to 'The Beast')

For bullying:
An extract from Wonder - R. J. Palacio (2012)

Hope this at least gives you a starting point for your ideas
