Performing arts is usually but not always multi disciplinary. Drama, singing, dance for example. Theatre Studies is drama, but often more academic, not actor training. Graduates can seek work in any field that requires communication skills or teaching/arts admin etc.
To train as a performer you need an institution that offers vocational training in drama, musical theatre etc. For backstage there are stage management, theatre technology etc courses.
