Explain to me, without insulting me, what makes landlords parasites.
The provide affordable housing in the form of rent for people who otherwise wouldn't be able to live as they can't buy a house.
(Original post by Stiff Little Fingers)
That does go both ways, OP has straight up ignored any corrections of their claims in favour of just spouting propaganda about "muh party of borrowing"

Also, all landlords are parasites.

Or maybe rather, it's better for the now.
It's detrimental for our futures.

Or so they think. In reality this left wing Labour Party would destroy the country in a matter of years.

Labour will promise anything to win your vote, in reality nothing in this life comes free. If you talk to a lot of these Labour voters they vote labour because they think things in life come free. They don’t!

As an opinionated person, I enjoy thinking and talking about politics, my parents are landlords so politics is the talk of the family. I personally believe that labour would wreck the economy of the UK if they got in, just ready for me to grow up and face the consequences.

So anyway why do some very smart people (students) think labour borrowing over a trillion is a good idea?
Cause when there's a party that's whipping out the check book promising everything g under the sun to a bum student that pretty appealing.

No they dont they use their financial muscle to push prices up and price them out of the market, thus their only option is to rent.
What this country needs is more houses building and an end to the favourable treatment of buy to let landlords.
People have to wait longer and longer before they can buy their only home and even then some will never be bale to afford a house.
This governments record on housing is shocking.
At the same time the HB bill has risen astronomically all because of buy to let landlords parasiting off the system and the general shortage of housing.

I said to my dad, and we agreed, that Corbyn is the only Labour leader that will lead to Johnson winning the election.

The fact of the matter is it is next to impossible to build that many homes at this moment in time. Immigration doesn’t help (as it ups demand for housing). Also a lot of landlords have it as their pension and even in countries like Germany most people don’t own their home.

I must say something needs to be done but people say these sort of things but unfortunately it all comes with sacrifices. It’s what you consider most important

Tony Blair led to the conservatives winning with one of the worst leaders in history. The tories are also facing an identity crisis at the moment and are veering into the right.

I completely agree. What I mean is, another Labour leader and Labour probably wins this election easily. But Corbyn is that one so many people just will not vote for.

Germany is a different country. They have a track record of s strong rental market and its part of their culture. There is also considerably more protection and less extortion in the German rental market.
The Conservatives have build not that many in fact non of the promised 300,000 homes. The second to last sentence doesnt make any sense.

Why do the students (that famously homogenous group) do anything? Traditionally because they want to.

People vote Labour because of idealism, it makes them feel good, etc. Same as to why they vote for other parties. Whether or not Labour's policies, as ludicrous as some of them may or may not be, will actually work or not depends on the infrastructure of the United Kingdom. Assuming Labour has any socialist policies, there is a high chance that the infrastructure will simply not be compatible with them.

Though Labour being voted in doesn't mean that their policies become absolute and rule of law overnight, if at all.

People wouldn't have to wait or pay so much for housing if the demand wasn't so high. Higher demand equals higher prices when supply cannot meet the demand btw. It isn't just the landlord's fault that people aren't able to buy or rent places.

Plus, "make more houses" is easier said than done. There is a process, resource management, deals, contracts, investments, budgets, testing, electricals, mechanics, etc. that all need to be considered.

i mean it’s not as if the conservative government has done a very good job with our economy thus far is it? saying labour is going to “wreck” the economy is just tory fear mongering. and anyway, if they were to do so, it’s because they would have inherited a pretty poor economy to begin with.

1. Agree wth the first part.
2. They have made a difficult situation worse.
3. They have been in power for the last ten years or so, they have had time to build houses and get their acts together if they wanted to.

People vote for the party most relevant to them, tactical voting. Students and young people vote for labour, middle-aged and older people might vote for conservatives
