So I washed my oven tray and left it out to dry on the rack, someone put it in the living room (I had no knowledge at the time) and started putting letters and envelopes in it, even though there was space on the table beside it to place the letters. Is this rude?

Honestly I just think it's funny lol. Why would they choose to put it into an oven tray instead of the table? There must be a reason, maybe ask them about it. Perhaps they don't realise it's an oven tray lol?

Just dry it and put it away from now on. I’m not sure if this was worthy of a thread.

I would say it's more funny than rude, why would you think to put letters in an oven tray is beyond me, but its one of them things that comes with shared living. If you leave things out then expect them to be used/borrowed, if they'd damaged it then I could understand but they've just tidied up using it don't see the problem really.

They might be trying some DIY to decorate the place a bit. You gotta make do with what you've got after all.
Just ask them about it.
