Nope, nothing changed in the portal. I'll send them another email after the 2 weeks. Rejection hurts even less knowing that you pay 30k in fees (overseas student here) + 15K? in living expenses(I don't know how expensive London is) for an online course. Moving from so far to do a (partially) very expensive online course is preposterous. You can do that on coursera.

Hahahaha exactly. London is very expensive so for international students it's gonna be around 50K for the whole year. I personally wouldn't mind paying that much to get the full experience (meeting people, engaging with faculty to do research, etc.) but for me no matter how much they try, doing it online isn't worth paying that much money when you lose all the other things that make the degree what it is.

Curious to hear what people think of imperial multi-mode teaching for next year. Spoke to admissions they said its likely it will be predominantly online based with some face to face learning

Hey! Not really sure what to expect but I think that it is going to depend on the size of your program and on how many people will be able to come study on site, things are not necessarily the same is your cohort is 45 or 200.

Also, I think it’s likely to change to on-site fully in September (due to Covid-19’s decrease in Europe) with an online option for students that cannot make it by that time.

Is it true that the status of references will change to "approved", I've submitted the application in late March and it still indicates "completed".

Yes, my references changed from completed to approved a week before getting my offer.

I agree. The value of the degree is the people you interact with. If they take that away, I'd need to consider other options. The quality of teaching in some of top tiers is not great, they have great researches, no necessarily great teachers. The most valuable thing is that you get to know like-minded people who work hard and strive for the best. A good example is Oxford, short terms and research-focused staff make the classroom experience average but the selection process is excellent so they get the best people and that's the big difference. I've been told by a couple graduates although obviously this is just an impression, 2 people is not a representative sample.
I have applied to Imperial for their course in MSc in Strategic Marketing in the month of May 2020 for September 2020 intake.
So I am an applicant from India and I have graduated from Xavier University Bhubaneswar in the year 2019 with 74.4% in the field of Marketing and since then I have been working from since a year now and I have scored 7 in my IELTS so what do you guys think about my chances of getting accepted at Imperial?
Hi,
For those of you who are planning on moving to London, Have you thought about accommodation yet? what are the options nearby Imperial business school?

I have already booked a studio apartment at GradPad Griffon Studios. It's right next to Clapham Junction station and a 25ish minutes bus ride to South Kensington Campus. The price is fair compared to other accomodations around London. This campus is recommended on Imperial's website, that's where I found it
Hi, why did you choose Griffon and not Woodlane studios? I hear that Woodlane Studios have a shuttle bus for the south kensington campus. I also saw that GradPad requires you to pay the whole year in advance if you do not have a UK based guarantor and that is a big drawback for me in these difficult times with the pandemic, cause we are uncertain about the whole year and how the situation is going to be.

Yes unfortunately they ask to pay for the whole year in advance. Anyways I went for Griffon Studios because of the overall location. I like that it is right next to a big station such as Clapham Junction and it takes a bit shorter to get to some London landmarks. However, there is no such big difference between the 2 to say that one is overall better than the other. Griffon is also slightly cheaper so this may be a bonus point
Do you think employers will care if the first semester is online? We will learn the same stuff and get the same MSc degree from Imperial as any other postgrad student would. But would there be a disadvantage at all from it being online instead of in-person?
I’ve noticed that quite a few people have mentioned having their references status change from “completed” to “approved” is this the case with computing specialisms??
Is it possible to change masters degrees at imperial? I have been accepted to an MRes bioengineering but really want to do a msc machine learning.... Any advice appreciated! x

Any other people here who are still waiting for an answer from MSc Computing Science ?

Just received my rejection from MSc Computing Science after I wrote a second Email to the department this morning.

My application was finished by late March. I'll be going to the conversion course at UCL; so I'm not too disappointed. All the best for everyone still waiting! I recommend contacting admissions via Email.

Just make it like your confirmed second choice, and try get suggested for a different one. Email admissions.
Hi - Does anyone know what is the status of the masters in computing program (AI and ML)? I understand they are still accepting applications, but since it's a bit late, are they still actively reviewing applications? Could someone kindly let me know what is the average waiting time to get an offer? Is there an interview for this program?

Thanks so much for your help.

Can I ask you which dates have you booked? My course starts on October 3rd, but I see that there is also a choice to start the tendency on September 19th.

I received an email containing my CID to activate my college computer account. However, when I go to the website to activate, it says my CID is too short?!?! Anybody have the same issue?

Hi there,

I'm Ben and I'm an official rep at Imperial. Depending on your department I would recommend that you email them directly so that they can sort this out for you. The contact details for each department can be found here:
https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/ug/apply/contact/

I hope they are able to sort out your issue.

Thanks

Hello,

I've applied late March to electrical engineering department and there's no response yet. It's been more than 11 weeks. When can I expect the decision? The course has is closed for applications but my application is still under review. Does this mean rejection?
