Ah yes. Politician fumbles some figures on live TV and therefore those are the actual figures. Not like a Tory repeatedly insisting that 31,000 is the same number as 50,000 (from 3:20).

The one thing that is entirely clear about the episode is that if Abbott was a photogenic white woman, people would have barely noticed the slip, and it certainly wouldn't have generated countless memes. Not saying that everyone who keeps bringing it up is a racist misogynist of course.

Rubbish, Abbott is a bumbling disaster that should never be in a senior roll, have you ever met her? It's nothing to do with her colour or what she has between her legs why people dislike her, you are acting like it's a one off mistake, it isnt. I don't understand why Corbyn still has her in shadow cabinet, I believe it can only be nepotism.

Now as for your first sentence, wasnt it you that said whataboutry is never an excuse?

Abbott is intellectually and professionally very capable, as her CV demonstrates. She is just not good PR.
And yes, the level of stick she gets is absolutely because of her appearance.

Now as for your first sentence, wasnt it you that said whataboutry is never an excuse?
Not whataboutery. I wan't excusing Abbott's mistake, merely highlighting the hypocrisy of right-wingers. Also, they are different situations because Morgan keeps on insisting that the "31,000 is actually 50,000" lie is true for several minutes. Abbot merely made a mistake when recalling complex figures in a live interview. Not impressive, but not lying either.

Ironic that you start off by saying that criticism of Abbott is not based on her appearance, yet you refuse to criticise a white woman making a far more ridiculous and dishonest claim. Why is that, hmm...?

Quite frankly yes, everyone gets the same start in life, no matter what some parties might say. Everyone gets a free education if they want it. I am absolutely sick to death of this country being apparently so 'developed' yet some of it's citizens choose to live in third world conditions while others, myself included, work their arses off, pay a ton of tax and get very little back in terms of the tax, while my tax payers money gets used to prop up the poor who in some cases cannot be bothered to even pop down to the dole office. It's ridiculous. This is exactly why socialism and the hard left does not work. It encourages the poor to simply sit back, and watch as the rich be dragged down to their level.

Is it **** mate. Labour think they can chuck ridiculous amounts of money around which will solve everything. They do it every time, yet with no repercussions because 4 years down the line the tories who are no saints, come in to mop up the mess. For what it's worth, I currently work a four day week, and while it may work in my industry it would certainly not work in others.

I'm neither left, nor right. I just want a just and fair society. I have yet to decide who to vote for, I don't want to leave the EU, it would be an utter disaster, but at the same time I cannot bring myself to vote Labour because of all of their ridiculous spending notions. I don't want another tax increase. What I do want, is a further clamp down on crime and punishment, harsher punishments to act as a deterrent. That is being floated in some respects by BJ, but then I cannot bring myself to vote to leave the EU. So I, as I am assuming among many other voters are left with a ****show of choice, I can't vote Labour, and I can't vote Tory. Lib Dems do not have enough clout, and the Brexit Party; well you've got to have a serious screw loose to vote for that.
What job do you do that makes you think you work your arse off when compared to people on low incomes?

I'd say you most certainly are right wing, I think you will find you have more in common with the Conservatives economic policies but Brexit is getting in your way. It's not much dissimilar to myself who has much in common with labours economic policies but Brexit is getting in my way.

Least we have rubbished the claim that leaving the EU is right wing and remaining is left wing now.
Agreed.

Wow. How delusional of u to say everyone has the same start in life. WTF actually baffled. Believe it or not people still living in the UK have no access to education and not every one was born into a rich household who had everything handed to them on a plate. Someone who has mental health issues, someone bought up in care, someone who had a traumatic childhood does not have the same start in life as a white privileged person sir.
Does everyone get access to free education in this country, yes or no? All I'm seeing in this post is excuses. That's it. We are not some third world nation. A small minority of people in this country need to start taking themselves seriously, and actually getting themselves sorted. The amount of workshy, lazy, idiots is increasing and my point is I am sick of my taxes funding their drugs and alcohol. We should not have areas in this country where you can't walk through, tougher punishment is needed.

I have no issue with in work benefits, let me make that clear. I do however, have an issue with the considerable number of people, especially in the north east of england who insist on playing the benefit system by either feigning some ridiculous disability, or producing children at a sterling number of knots in order to not have to work, and get money for free. Go on, please deny it. These people surely need help, they surely need rehabilitating, blah blah blah. Either get them into work, get them sorted or lock them up and throw away the key.

I usually support labour but this year I think the nationalisation policy is a bit too radical for my liking - Don't get me wrong, I'm all for nationalisation but I feel that all those things *at the same time* are simply too big a task for any government to handle particularly which juggling BREXIT.

Honestly, I have no idea whos going to win. Lots of people who voted conservative last time are pissed with the tories, and lots of people who voted for Labour last time are pissed at Corbyn. I reckon it'll end in a coalition, either tories and the Brexit party, or labour and lib dem. Honestly, I've given up at this point, we're fuc*** regardless lol

Labour have fallen out of touch with the wider public. They pander too much to the ethnic minority vote and to niche demographics such as LGBT and they have become FAR too London-centric (I know they have always be somewhat urban-centric which has alienated rural voters, but now they seem to only care about London). their refusal to take a clear stance on Brexit either way is also alienating both sides of the divide. Their working class heartlands in the North that tend to back leave are increasingly moving towards the Brexit Party or the Conservatives, and remain backing liberals in the South who might once have voted for them, are going to Lib Dems and the Greens).

Yeah but it always seems like Labour is going to win and then the tories do. Almost like its a fix
There's no fix, just an utterly incompetent leadership.

Well, you read it wrong then.
People target black women because of their race and sex are racist misogynists though. Do you disagree?

If it's purely
because of their race and sex
then yes, but light-hearted jokes about a potential Home Secretary thinking policemen are paid £30 per annum aren't in any way racist or misogynist.

Vote labour and economy goes bust, only have to listen to the experts. But the youth will vote labour just because of free tutition pledges, A) Country cannot afford to, B) Uni's become a global laughing stock. About time the voting age was put up.

Well I'm surprised that none of the resident momentum activists on here aren't attempting to defend him, maybe Corbyn HQ hasn't sent out the official way to respond yet!
