You'll need to look for a job from Jan 2021 and you should find a job reasonably easily. However, pick your school carefully to make sure you will get proper support in your NQT year.

Your first year of teaching is called your NQT [newly qualified teacher] year.

nothing to do with your question, but if you could help. would a Computer sciance degree be ok if i apply for maths, assuming you have talked to other students you would know this.

Hello @007eric

Yes, for most teacher training course providers, a computer science degree would be appropriate. You might find discussing your options with a qualified teacher here - https://getintoteaching.education.gov.uk/teacher-training-adviser/sign_up/identity

All the best, Jane

For January 2025 intake I secured place at university of Essex ( MA Politics ) ,but after research I came to know job after MA or Funded PhD after MA is very difficult. So I thought of taking safe route and got to know about PGCE QTS . Can you please clarify me regarding the employment situation after this course
