I have virgin black hair and I want to get it a cinnamon/copper brown colour. If I buy a blonde box dye and then apply a semi-dye of the colour I want, will that work? Also, is that very damaging? I have thin/fine curly hair so obviously, I would like to avoid going bald in the process.

A blonde box dye will do nothing on black hair. If you want to go lighter unfortunately you need bleach. Or a dye with a lightner in it such as schwarzkopf live color and lift. But even that will only go a few shades lighter.
Basically you’ll probably need to bleach it

I was thinking of getting a product called Bleach London and then using a semi-dye. I hope that works. I'm scared though mostly because I have thin hair so don't know if bleach would be too harsh.

I think you have to lift the hair(light it) before applying a brown box dye in order for the colour to show up. Also depends on the intensity of the bleach. 40 volume bleach developer is very harsh. Maybe going to a hairdresser is better and healthier for the hair.

I was thinking of going to the hairdressers but I wear extensions and would want them to match my dyed hair too. I don't know if hairdressers would also do my extensions for me or just bleach my hair so I could dye it myself at home (hairdressers are so expensive).
