I'm not a liberal, progressive or an open borders advocate.
I'm the descendent of ultra-traditionalist english catholics who have lived in england for centuries.
Before and after they plotted to blow up england's parliament in the early 17th century.

My mother & maternal grandmother have both been attending and supporting the protesters since the early days of the protests.
In 1605- it was religious terrorist criminality with gunpowder and a mass murder plot as the preferred means chosen by vicious religious fanatics with an insatiable appetite for the imposition of their religious ideology upon others.
Now in 2019- it is standing alongside/appeasing/lobbying on behalf of the religious hardliners & vicious fanatics that yell angry protests against the uk's commitment to a social environment based upon harmonious coexistence.
Vociferously opposing the secular laws that are designed to prevent a repeat of some of the darkest events in the history books.

Care to amend your post to also include the religious hardliners, their pals and support network who ancestors have lived in britain for centuries?
Those who cannot be accurately described as "these aliens in our lands" or "liberals, progressives, open borders advocates".
Thank you.
No. How many Christians even attended these protests? And of those how many where indigenous/white Britons? A negligable amount I suspect. Yeah we have had violently radical Christians throughout our nation's history, and it took over two centuries of Enlightenment struggle to finally filter that nonsense out. What a great future we have to look forward to.....

Dear liberals, progressives, open borders advocates.... Your ideology is responsible for this whole sorry affair. You allowed these aliens into our lands, you promised us it would all be just fine and that they would all become just like us, but it's not and they didn't. This is your fault.

This ban won't change a thing, it's re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic at best.

I agree. Done well it’s incredibly hard work
The pay is dire. There are no days off. Early mornings, late nights. Sick days are almost impossible. And unless you’re incredibly lucky like me it can be thankless
Yet for the amount of thankless hard work it actually is, people still think it's something to sneer over, or judge as not a 'real' job. In other words, to be a 'real job', it has to earn money somehow. Maybe if housewives invoiced the household for all the tasks they do (not forgetting antisocial hours at double time) then the 'value' of it would become apparent.

(Original post by RJ7781)
You think a good Muslim man will allow that? Wives are for the kitchen and children not for jobs.
Which goes a long way to explaining why they're still stuck in the C9th.

Here are the ones I saw protesting and whose backgrounds I know:
43 British Christians that I know are not citizens of any other country, plus 21 British jehovahs witnesses and 8 British fundamentalist mormons.
Another 34 Christians who are either european citizens resident in Britain for over half a century or members of fundamentalist uk churches where the church senior leadership is headquartered in the US, Kenya or Uganda.

Do you consider 72 to constitute very few?
I was hoping I wouldn't have to directly refer to skin colour.
43 British Christians + 21 jehovahs witnesses + 8 fundamentalist mormons.

British is a meaningless term these days with respect to ethnicity considering people of all colours can be referred to as British

If you're so against immigration and other cultures, why is your username a God of norse mythology. And before you say he was a Saxon God, Saxons invaded Britain and killed the people who were there before them...the celts...who were also from Europe. There is no such thing as an 'indigenous Briton' or not a group that can be easily defined anyway.

You are wrong.
I volunteer with charities that support the survivors of honour abuse and rape.
I think you gravely underestimate the potential of Britain's homegrown bad apples with paler complexions: violent religious fanatics, neo-nazis and other thugs that hate gay people.

In Britain vicious criminals do murder descendants/relatives for: being gay, atheist, having an abortion, being a rape victim, being an unwed mother, having a close personal relationship with an atheist/divorcee/abortion doctor/person whose parents never married.
The burden of proof for a murder conviction is very high and almost impossible to meet without a corpse, proof of death, forensic evidence of any crime and a wall of silence that often means no missing person report is even made.

My own mother was almost beaten to death by her father and paternal grandmother- just for telling them that she was going to marry an atheist.
They left her in a pool of blood on the floor, locked inside a room and it was sheer luck that she survived.
Every fertility specialist she saw over 15 years read her medical file, then told her that their violence had made it impossible for her to ever get pregnant.

I've been in situations where I've had to protect rape survivors who chose abortion from parents who have tried to attack them with weapons or run them over with a motor vehicle.
My home has been targeted and my windows smashed by the relatives of rape survivors.
All of them with the same skin colour as me and the innocent person they were trying to murder.

I think it's more of a culture thing rather than a race thing, as look at Russia for example. Full of white people but a fairly racist/homophobic country and they also find domestic violence much more acceptable and have made criminalising it much harder by changing laws. They have laws in russia which means it's illegal to teach pro- lgbt stuff to children too..

Britain used to hang people who engaged in buggery until the 1900's.Less than 30 years ago Britain banned the promotion of homosexuality. It was very similar to Russia today tbh. The defining feature of homophobia is not colour but religion. Particularly the abrahamic religions.

I agree that they should be banned. Freedom of speech is an essential part of our democracy, that said the core message of the protests I would categories as hate speech. Would it not threaten the safety of those in the LGBT community as well as perpetuating another generation far less tolerant of all of society? Parents are free to impart their opinions their children the line must be drawn at teaching them not to accept others and discriminate against marginalised groups in society.
