Boy in Uni Class

So, I’m currently second year and as part of my degree, I specialise in geography meaning I take that module up until next semester.

In first year, there was one boy in the module that I thought was cute - never spoke to him but from how he was to the people around, he seemed nice. I guess I’d say I had a little crush (only little because I didn’t know him).

However, this semester, I’ve been seeing him everywhere - the corridors, the gym etc and I guess I’ve just thought about him a lot more.

I still don’t know him but we recently followed each other on Instagram (I followed him first then he followed me in return).

I’m just wondering how I could talk to him? As I said, I’m only taking this module until January so we won’t be in any classes together if it goes wrong.

I just don’t know what to say or how to message him? I don’t want to seem desperate or annoying etc.

He never posts on his instagram story so I can’t t reply to one (that’s my only idea!)

Any help?

We have our exam on Wednesday then we break up for Christmas so I won’t be able to.

You could tell him that nobody else has been able to give you a definite answer. Random people on my course asked me questions at times and I didn’t think it was weird.
Maybe its worth messaging him if you have any "questions" about the module assignments or exams, and see if he can help you and then you could start chatting from there, or just do it to break the ice. it could also be worth smiling or waving or saying hi when you see him in the hallways, if you dont already do this.

i doubt he would question it, or you could subtly mention that none of your classmates know the answer either

I just feel a bit unsure of messaging him on Instagram because no one tends to do that... I have his friend on Facebook so I’m worried what he’ll think if I message him and not his friend when I don’t really know both :/
Just ask an open question on insta like "Hi - are you the guy from xxx class?" if interested he will respond and say things to keep the conversation going
