Advice in General for an International Year 11 StudentWatch this thread
I am a current Year 11 in a British international school in Asia. Here are my current IGCSE subjects (current grade/predicted grade):
English Language (B/B)
English Literature (B/B)
Additional Maths (A*/A*)
IGCSE PE (A*/A*)
Global Perspectives (C/?)
Mandarin Second Language (A/A)
I already took the IGCSE Extended Maths course last year and I got 95% (A*). I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice for improving my English Lang and Lit and my GP grades? I am also thinking of going into medicine, what subjects would I need to take (our school offers IB only) and are my current grades good enough? Also, any advice regarding IGCSEs and studying, in general, would be greatly appreciated!!
I didn't take Global Perspectives so no help there (sorry! ) but for English lit, I would practice lots of past papers - focusing on the key elements that come up, like how to spot patterns and meaning in poems. Writing practice essays on key themes in the books you have studied is good too.
For English language, I'd say reading newspapers and books regularly is the best way to improve.
