How do we know if we hit puberty or not? We look at other signs of puberty?

In regards to religion (I am thinking of specifically Islam), if we don’t start our periods and the puberty stage isn’t obvious, how do we know when it would be compulsory for you to fast (for a healthy normal person of course)?

Hi, peace be upon you

If you haven't reached puberty, it isn't compulsory to fast.
Parents teach fasting at a young age so that they can practice and get the hang of it for when they actually have to fast after reaching puberty.

Cheers!

NHS advice is to see your GP if they have not started by 16. Very few healthy girls will be in this situation
