Hello!

I am sadly taking into consideration to change my course because of a learning disability.

I was diagnosed with Adhd and dyspraxia a few days ago. I realised I was struggling massively with some of the assessments, and I was referred to a specialist.

I am currently taking a Bc in Life Sciences. It is my first year at university. A degree in Science may be a bit to challenging, considering that being a European student, I don't qualify for disability allowance.

I may change my course to Moviemaking, or graphic, as they are both my hobby and I find easy to focus on these things.

What will happen with my student finance?

If I’d be eligible for student finance again, and I change my course, what would the initial date of my course be if I join my new class in September 2020?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

Sorry to hear that you're thinking about leaving your course. Do you only have the one year of study at higher education level so far?

Yes Duncan!
You'd still be eligible for finance for your course as you only have one year of previous study. Your university would just send us a withdrawal or suspension notice for your current course, letting us know how much they are charging you for the tuition fees for the year, which we would pay. If you're coming back to study next year, you'd just need to resubmit a new application next year when they are released around spring time.

Regards, Duncan
