I'm not sure whether I should take classical civilization a level or ethics and philosophy.
For context the subjects I want to study are history, English lit and politics. I want my a levels to be good enough for me to progress to study politics or law at university

As you already have history, I would recommend Philosophy and Ethics over Classical Civilization. However, you should only take A-levels you think you would enjoy, so take that into account.
