My (same gender) bff of 7 years asked me out (in a piece of paper) and told me to give her a chance. Since Idk my sexuality (guess i dont have 1) I said "ok, let's give it a shot and if it doesn't work after a week or two, then u know..."

Also, it's entirely up to you. Do you think they are the one for you? Don't force yourself to be in a relationship with them just because they're your best friend. If they are truly your friend, they should respect your opinion.

Do you like her? There’s no harm in going for a date, if it feels wrong say so, be open and honest you don’t wanna regret not trying
