Is it worth it to pay about £250 for transport, accommodation etc for an interview that's 5hrs away?

Does the interview mean a lot to you? If so, then yes.

If you are rich, sure, do you even need to ask?
IF not, no it not worth it, even if the interview at 9 am then leave home at 3 am ^_^, travel takes 5h, arrive 30m early and leave 30m earlier to avoid missing train/bus. 5hs is enough to have asleep for 3h and 2h to prepare yourself.

Depends on the job really and how passionate you are about it. Think carefully cos there's a chance you might not be given the job.
If you have enough money to spare and really want the job then go for it.

Is the job something you really want to do? Will they reimburse any of your travel/accommodation costs, or is that all on you?

get a megabus. you can probably get a return for under £15

If we factor in another £15 for food/snacks, your trip shouldn't come to more than about £30

Of course it is! It's an investment in your future. You'll earn all that money back either way.

Well if you get the place that is! I'm sure you will. Good luck.
